Happy National Nutrition Month!
March is National Nutrition Month, and registered dietitians and nutritionists across the country are encouraging us to "Put Your Best Fork Forward." This year's slogan serves as a reminder that we each hold the tools to make small healthy changes. We have opportunities every day, with each fork(or spoon)ful to choose nutritious foods that taste good, and are satisfying! Putting your best fork forward doesn't have to look like having kale and quinoa for every meal (although kudos if that is your thing!). Instead of completely overhauling your diet and eating "perfectly," making small and realistic changes for you can add up to more sustainable, lifelong habits.
Pyramid Nutrition served as a sponsor again this year for the Western Area Massachusetts Dietetic Association (WAMDA) 5K road race, held this past Saturday at Look Park in Northampton. The WAMDA 5K is held annually in March to celebrate National Nutrition Month and to raise money for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
It was a great turnout! Nicole from Pyramid Nutrition was serving up nutrition advice and delicious treats at the PNS table with these " 5 Minute Peanut Butter Bites" adapted with a few modifications from the Ambitious Kitchen, original recipe below:

We left out the chocolate chips and protein powder in our version, but they were just as tasty and a big hit at the race! Choosing snacks made with nutritious whole food ingredients is just one example of a small change you can make for Nutrition Month, and all year long!
